FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first match.

How do I book a court?

Booking is easy: reserve your court through the Padel FVR app, book online, or simply call or text your club directly. Whichever way you choose, you’ll have your spot secured in minutes.

Do I need a partner to play?

Not at all. Our Game Match feature pairs you with other players at a similar skill level, so you can jump into a match even if you’re coming alone. You can also join our weekly Open Play round-robins, which are split by level and a good way to meet people.

What equipment do I need?

All you really need is a padel racket, and if you don’t have one you can rent one at the club for $5. We’ll lend you balls free of charge for the length of your match, or sell you a fresh set if you’d rather have your own. Bring court shoes with good grip and comfortable athletic wear, and you’re ready to play.

What is padel?

Padel is a racquet sport born in Mexico in 1969, played in doubles on an enclosed court surrounded by glass walls. Players use solid, stringless paddles and a low-compression ball, with scoring similar to tennis. Because the walls keep the ball alive, rallies last longer and the game is easy to pick up. Most people feel comfortable within their first session.

How long does a match last?

A competitive match typically runs 1.5 to 2 hours, while a recreational match usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours. When you book a court with us, you can reserve either a 1.5-hour or 2-hour slot to match your pace of play.

Are lessons available?

Yes. Every Padel FVR location offers group clinics for beginner, intermediate, and advanced players, as well as one-on-one sessions with our professional coaches. Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or refining a competitive edge, there’s coaching to match your goals.

What are the benefits of membership?

Padel FVR members enjoy cheaper court rates, access to exclusive events, discounts on court and racket rentals and in the pro shop, and free merchandise. The Platinum FVR package also includes a racket of your choice. If you travel, our Flying Membership lets you play at any Padel FVR club in the country. Visit our membership page for full details.

How high are your ceilings?

Height matters more in padel than people expect. The lob accounts for roughly a quarter of every shot in a professional match, and the pro tour requires a minimum of 26ft. West Island rises to an unobstructed 31ft, the highest in Quebec, and our Pitt Meadows club goes higher still at 36ft. Cathcart plays at approximately 26ft on Court 1 and 24ft on Court 2.

What is Padel FVR?

Padel FVR is a premium social padel club founded in Montreal in 2023. What started as a single flagship location has grown into four clubs spanning Montreal and Vancouver, each built to elite standards with pro-level courts, coaching, and a community that plays as hard as it socializes.
